DR ANDREW BROOKES

I have extensive proven experience in river management and geomorphology including working for the Environment Agency and its predecessor bodies, central government and then in consultancy (Gifford, Jacobs and AECOM).  

I have successfully blended my practical experience with robust scientific approaches and produced several peer-reviewed papers, world renowned reference books (see links below) and subsequently lectured throughout the UK, Europe and the world. I have also led the development of the current industry standard practices such as Fluvial Audit.

Twin Sails.

I was responsible for the management of environmental work (including the Environmental Statement) on the Twin Sails Bridge crossing in Poole Harbour for the local council.

Nuclear.

For the planned new Wylfa nuclear power station I had overall responsibility for using hydrodynamic and wave model outputs to assess potential impact on coastal processes.

HS2.

I have been involved with steering and reviewing geomorphological/ hydromorphological work since 2017 for lengths of the new HS2 route from Euston to Birmingham  and ongoing studies for HS2b.
