UNITED UTILITIES CHIEF GEOMORPHOLOGIST

ROLE OVERVIEW

As chief geomorphologist for United Utilities I undertook geomorphological assessments where erosion and/or deposition potentially or actually impinged on functioning of assets. In particular I devised a simple ‘erosion risk tool’ to help prioritise cases. Subsequently other Clients such as National Grid have required assessment of the potential effects of their assets on channel morphology, particularly as a result of high magnitude storm events.
